There may be several reasons for not been able to to resolder the joint. If there is water in the drip line of the joint, you have not cleaned properly, or that the seal does not use a stream.
Depending on your experience in welding, it is easier to cut and replace the old joint with two taps, a few pieces of 1 / 2 "copper and a new elbow. Do not forget to clean the copper and the use of flow or leaking joints.
When you do your expertise in welding technology in doubt, then the compression fittings that slide on 1 / 2 "copper and tighten with a key pair. You still have two ports, two short pieces of 1 / 2" copper and a new elbow. Consult staff Lowes or Home Depot for help if you buy do not know what they are. Compression fittings are easy to apply.
Sorry, but not really a glue to fix the problem correctly

The reason could not re-solder the connection, there was no water in the pipe. The water cools the joint and reduces the pipe. You should vacuum-tube water to about 6 cm on each side of the joint. Now follow the instructions to be answered in the other. You're right.

Preheat the hose with his flashlight, dismantle and clean both parts with sandpaper plumber. Implementation of the Watergate flow again, and solder with silver solder. That the best way to (permanently) to a copper tube
We call a connection to the sweat
